Three Hamilton College women's track and field athletes competed at the 2017 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Championships at Westfield State University's Jerry Gravel Track on Thursday afternoon.

The Continentals recorded 19 team points and finished in 12th place out of 28 teams that scored at least one point. It was a sweltering mid-May day in Westfield, Mass., as temperatures reached the low 90s.

Cat Berry '19 was just as hot as the weather as she put herself in position to qualify for the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Berry obliterated her own 200-meter dash team record by nearly a half-second and finished fourth with a time of 24.66 seconds. She moved up to 16th place on the NCAA's descending order list. The top 20 times advance to the national meet. Berry also finished fifth in the 100-meter dash with a wind-legal, personal-record time of 12.27 seconds.

Hanna Jerome '18 and Mary Lundin '19 took part in the 800-meter run. Jerome finished fifth in 2:17.91 and Lundin was sixth with a time of 2:19.85. Berry, Jerome and Lundin all earned all-ECAC honors for finishing in the top eight of their event.
