The Hamilton College women's track & field team competed at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's 2017 Upstate Track & Field Classic Saturday in Troy, N.Y.

The Continentals finished in third place among the 10 competing teams, paced by team-record performances from Cat Berry '19 and Emily Hull '18.

Berry was victorious in the 100-meter dash. Her winning time of 12.20 seconds lowered her own record by 0.22 seconds and qualified her for next month's Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Outdoor Championships. Berry was also second in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 25.54 seconds. Hull took third in the hammer throw with a school-record mark of 45.79 meters (150 feet, 3 inches), which qualifies her for the ECAC Championships.

The Continentals swept the top two spots in the 800-meter run as Hanna Jerome '18 was the winner in 2:21.71 and Mary Lundin '19 was right behind in second place with a time of 2:22.14.

Three other Hamilton runners posted runner-up finishes. Michelle Fish '17 took second in the 1,500-meter run (4:52.62), Lindsay Heyer '17 was second in the 5,000-meter run (19:52.80) and Anaidys Uribe '19 recorded a time of 11:55.82 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Emily Steates '19 placed fourth in the long jump (5.13 meters/16 feet, 10 inches) and fifth in the triple jump (10.16 meters/33 feet, 4 inches). Gelotte cleared 1.44 meters (4 feet, 8.75 inches) and tied for sixth place in the high jump.

Hamilton's runner-up 1,600-meter relay -- which featured Berry, Jerome, Lundin and Michaela Guinee '18 -- posted a time of 4:10.81.

The Continentals were fifth in the 400-meter relay; Berry led off and Steates anchored the quartet, which also included Caitlin McHugh '20 and Vishwa Rasania '17, as they finished in 53.85 seconds.
