Chor '21 wins singles, doubles match at ITA regionals

Four Hamilton College athletes competed at the 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Northeast Regional Championships hosted by Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Sept. 22.

Audrey Chor '21 won a singles match and teamed up with Ajla Karabegovic '21 to post a victory in doubles play. Chor's singles record is now 4-2 and her doubles mark is 3-2.

Chor defeated Ithaca College's Kathryn Shaffer 6-1, 6-1 in the first round of singles competition. She dropped her second round match by scores of 6-2, 6-0 against Vassar College's Frances Cornwall, who was seeded fifth in the singles draw.

Chor and Karabegovic advanced to the second round of doubles competition with an 8-5 win against SUNY Cortland's Mia Hayes and Nikaylah Williams. Skidmore's Renee Karchere-Sun and Brianna Greene eliminated Chor and Karabegovic by the same score in the second round. Karchere-Sun and Greene were one of the four pairings seeded between fifth and eighth in the doubles draw.

The women's tennis team will resume their 2017-18 schedule in March.
