Women's tennis loses 5-4 at St. Lawrence

The Hamilton College women's tennis team opened a stretch of three straight non-conference matches Wednesday at St. Lawrence. The Continentals lost 5-4 to the Saints in a match played at St. Lawrence's Newell Field House.

Hamilton is now 8-5 on the season and St. Lawrence improved to 7-8. The Saints are 18th in the latest Northeast Region team rankings.

Winnie Tang '17 and Claire Keyte '17 – the top two players in Hamilton's singles line-up – were both straight-set winners in singles play and both were half of a winning doubles tandem.

Tang swept her opponent at first singles and teamed with Jane Haffer '19 for a first flight doubles win.

Keyte dropped just four games in her second flight singles win. In doubles action, she and Samantha Weeks '19 were 8-4 winners at the second spot.

Hamilton is back in action Saturday, traveling to Ithaca College for a 1 p.m. match against the Bombers.
