First day of NESCAC women's swimming & diving meet complete

Hamilton College competed at the 2018 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at Williams College's Samuelson-Muir Pool on Friday.

The Continentals had three swimmers in the top 24 of the 50-yard backstroke. Sadie Logan '20 grabbed second place in the consolation final (10th overall) with a time of 27.50 seconds. Emma Raynor '18 took sixth place in the consolation final (14th overall) in 27.59 seconds, and Katie Weinzierl '21 ended up eighth in the pre-consolation final (24th overall) with a time of 28.68 seconds.

Erin Lewis '18 finished fourth in the pre-consolation final (20th overall) of the 50 breaststroke with a time of 31.96 seconds. Caroline Paulson '21 was eighth in the pre-consolation final (24th overall) of the 50 breast in 32.42 seconds.

Jess Halladay '18 landed in fifth place in the pre-consolation final (21st overall) of the 500 freestyle (5:11.76). Julia Martin '21 was sixth in the pre-consolation final (22nd overall) of the 200 individual medley (2:13.88). Sarah Pickup '19 wound up in 17th place in 1-meter springboard diving with 303.00 points.

Hamilton racked up 144 points on the first day and is in 10th place. The second day of the championships kicks off with the preliminary heats at 10 a.m. and the finals begin at 5:50 p.m.
