Hamilton women swimmers win three events at SUNY New Paltz

The Hamilton College women's swimming and diving team dropped a dual meet against SUNY New Paltz by the score of 117-85 at New Paltz's Elting Pool on Saturday afternoon.

Three Continentals finished first in individual events as Hamilton evened its record at 1-1. Lauren Klei '18 captured first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.71, Jess Halladay '18 was the winner in the 500 free in 5:38.22, and Madeleine Lepesant '19 grabbed the top spot in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:17.59.

Jessica Khanna '21 was runner-up behind Klei in the 200 free (2:06.31) and took second to Halladay in the 500 free (5:45.55). Emma Raynor '18 landed in second place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:16.86, and Julia Martin '21 ended up second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:38.82.

The Continentals host the 2017 Hamilton Swimming and Diving Invitational at Bristol Pool on Dec. 1 and 2. Friday's session begins at 5 p.m., Saturday's early session starts at 10 a.m. and the third and final session is scheduled for 5 p.m.
