The Hamilton College women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Tufts on Sunday at Love Field.

Tufts (5-2-3, 4-1-2 NESCAC) scored both of its goals in the first half. Sarah Grubman redirected a corner kick by Chandler Quintin past the hands of Emily Dumont '18 (two saves) at the 10:26 mark. With eight seconds remaining in the half, Margaret Zahrah tucked the ball inside the left post off a cross from Hannah Isenhart for the Jumbos' second goal.

The Continentals (5-4-2, 2-4-2 NESCAC) brought the pressure in the second half, outshooting the Jumbos 7-0.

Alex Fontana '20 had a chance to put Hamilton on the scoreboard in the 86th minute. Darby Philbrick '18 passed the ball to Fontana at the top of the penalty box but her shot deflected off a Tufts defender and the ball went wide of the net.

Three minutes later, Katie Kreider '18 worked her way through two Jumbo defenders in the right corner and crossed the ball in front of Tufts goalkeeper Emily Bowers (two saves). Katja Dunlap '18 was there to put the ball away but a Jumbos defender blocked the attempt.

Hamilton visits Utica College on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a 6 p.m. non-conference game at Utica's Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
