The Hamilton College women's lacrosse team travels to William Smith College on Wednesday, March 7 for a 4 p.m. non-conference game in Geneva, N.Y.

The opening draw on Wednesday will be the 50th meeting between Hamilton and William Smith. William Smith controls the 33-15-1 all-time series record that dates back to Hamilton's inaugural season in 1978. However, the Continentals have won 11 of the last 12 matchups, including three overtime victories.

Hamilton (0-1 overall) is ranked seventeenth in the most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll released on Monday, March 5. The Continentals slipped four slots in the coaches poll after dropping their season-opener to No. 12 Tufts University on March 3.

Darby Philbrick '18, Tatiana Bradley '19, Kara Pooley '19 and Julia Rowland '21 contributed one goal each, and Hannah Burrall '19 made 16 saves in goal against the Jumbos. Tessa Ryan '21 caused three turnovers in her first collegiate game, and Maddie Fitzpatrick '18 scooped up three ground balls.

No. 13 William Smith (0-1) dropped eight slots in the coaches poll after falling 12-9 to SUNY Geneseo in its season-opener last week. Melissa Moore scored four of the Herons' nine goals against the Knights, and Rachel Yackel scored twice. Kelsi Carr totaled five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
