Women’s golf places 5th at Middlebury’s George Phinney Classic

Hamilton College finished in fifth place out of 12 teams at the 2017 George Phinney Golf Classic, which was held at Middlebury College's Ralph Myhre Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.

The Continentals ended up with a team score of 670 for the weekend.

Libbie Warner '19 led Hamilton and tied for 12th place at 163 (79-84). Celia Lau '21 shot a season-best 167 for 18th place, and Winda Wanikpun '20 tied for 19th place with a 169.

Sophia Archos '21 and Gabrielle Wierda '21 finished the 36-hole tournament tied for 29th place at 174.

Hamilton competes in the NESCAC Championship on Oct. 7 and 8 at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass.
