Men's cross country captures Hamilton Invitational team title

Five Hamilton College men's cross country runners finished in the top 10 and the Continentals took first place out of 13 teams in the 2017 Hamilton Invitational on Saturday.

Lucas Wright '21 grabbed second place out of 120 runners with a time of 25:30.5 on the 8-kilometer course for the Continentals. Le Moyne College's Sean Beney was the individual winner and finished just 4.7 seconds ahead of Wright.

Peter DeWeirdt '18 was close behind Wright in third place with a time of 25:33.7. Erich Wohl '18 landed in sixth place in 26:23.2 and Henry Whipple '18 continued to round back into form as he ended up seventh with a time of 26:28.4. Christopher Skeldon '20 rounded out Hamilton's top five in 10th place in 26:48.5. Reilly Shew '19 took 13th place with a time of 27:26.8 and Jake Colangelo '20 was 14th in 27:33.

The Continentals registered 28 team points and Division II Le Moyne was the runner-up with 39 points. Hamilton is off until its Short Course Tuneup on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m.
