The Hamilton College men's track and field team tied for seventh place in the 23-team field at the 2018 All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Indoor Championships at Ithaca College's Glazer Arena Athletics and Events Center on Saturday, March 3.

The Continentals -- ranked 14th in the Atlantic Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association -- finished in the top three in four of the five events that they competed in on Saturday.

Lucas Wright '21 legged out a first place finish in the 800-meter run (1:54.61), crossing the finish line 1.10 seconds before fellow first-year Michael Warchol from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Ty Kunzman '20 broke the program record in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 17.06 meters and in doing so finished second in the event.

Eli Saucier '18 medaled in both the 60- and the 200-meter dash. Saucier's time of 22.08 seconds in the 200 meters earned him second place and is the eighth-best time in Division III this season. He earned the bronze in the 60 meters with a time of 7.02 seconds. Saucier holds the program record in both events.

The senior duo of Peter DeWeirdt '18 and Henry Whipple '18 finished sixth (8:45.96) and eighth (8:46.67) in the 3,000-meter run, respectively. DeWeirdt's time was a career-best.

Next up for Hamilton is the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala., on March 9 and 10.
