Pierce received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for the first time in track & field. Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better and either compete in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship or finish the regular season ranked in the top 50 in an individual event or in the top 35 in a relay on the official NCAA Descending Order List. Pierce was ranked 33rd in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:57.43 at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

A program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA in order to be eligible for the All-Academic Team award. The Continentals' team GPA was 3.31. The Hamilton men have collected this award six straight years under head coach Brett Hull.
