Hamilton College's Eli Saucier '18 competed in the 2017 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Championships at Westfield State University's Jerry Gravel Track on Thursday afternoon.

Despite the fact he was the only Hamilton male athlete at the meet, Saucier racked up 14 team points and finished in 19th place out of 31 teams that scored at least one point. It was a sweltering mid-May day in Westfield, Mass., as temperatures reached the low 90s.

Saucier was runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.58 seconds, which was just .02 seconds off his own school record. He also landed in third place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.87 seconds. Saucier set the 100-meter program record of 10.75 seconds the day before. He earned all-ECAC honors for finishing in the top eight in both events.

Saucier will find out Saturday morning if he has qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
