Hamilton College's Tripp Miller '18 broke a school record on the second day of the 2018 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at Bowdoin College's Greason Pool on Saturday.

Miller's time of 56.85 seconds in the preliminary heats of the 100-yard breaststroke bettered the old record of 57.57 seconds by David Cecere '02 that had stood for 16 years. Miller then lowered his own record and finished sixth in the championship final with a time of 56.78 seconds.

Jesse Bennett '19 ended up fifth in the preconsolation final (21st overall) of the 100 breast and moved into sixth place on Hamilton's top times list with a time of 58.90 seconds.

Evan Tatro '20 racked up team points in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke. Tatro landed in seventh place in the consolation final (15th overall) of the 100 back in 52.93 seconds. His faster time of 52.66 seconds in the prelims puts him in fourth place on the top times list. Tatro is also in fourth place on the top times list for the 100 fly after he finished fourth in the preconsolation final (20th overall) with a time of 51.68 seconds.

Trevor Pearson '18 set a personal record and finished 15th in the 1,000 freestyle (9:50.17), but is still eighth on the top times list. Ben Cooper '18 took third place in the preconsolation final (19th overall) of the 100 back with a time of 53.26 seconds. His time of 53.14 seconds in the morning's preliminary heats was a personal record but kept him in fifth place on the top times list.

Hamilton finished the night with 256 points and is in 11th place in the team standings. The third and final day of the championships kicks off with the preliminary heats at 10 a.m. and the finals begin at 5:30 p.m.
