Hamilton College's Matt Casadei '19 recorded a goal and an assist and the Continentals posted a 4-0 non-conference win against the SUNY Polytechnic Wildcats at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field on Sunday afternoon.

The emphatic victory wrapped up a busy opening week for the Hamilton men in which they played three games in six days. The Continentals enjoyed a 16-2 shot advantage.

Casadei's goal was the third of his Hamilton career as he scored the other two in a 4-0 win at Colby on Oct. 22, 2016. Goalkeeper Linds Cadwell '20, who played until the 69th minute, and Pete Calleri '18 didn't have to make a save to earn the combined shutout.

Quinn O'Malley '18 opened the scoring in the ninth minute with his first career goal. Jeffrey Plump '20 lofted a free kick to O'Malley, who headed the ball into the right side of the net. Less than four minutes later, Aidan Wood '20 notched his second goal with the Continentals after he dribbled past a defender and hammered a shot to the back-right post. Hamilton took a 2-0 lead into the break.

The Continentals clinched their win with two goals in the opening 3:32 of the second half. A header by Plump hit the post and Casadei put away the rebound in the 47th minute. Jefri Schmidt '20 completed the scoring with his seventh career goal and second this year. Casadei came down the right side and sent a crossing pass to Schmidt, who pushed a shot past the keeper from close range.

Hamilton plays another non-conference contest at Ithaca College on Wednesday, Sept. 13 under the lights at 7 p.m.
