Gilmour '20 is NESCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Hamilton College's Kena Gilmour '20 (New Paltz, N.Y./Kent School [Conn.]) was named the NESCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 2 after he was named most valuable player of the 38th playing of the Moravian College Roosevelt's 21st Greyhound Classic.

Gilmour led the undefeated Continentals (10-0 overall) to the Greyhound Classic tournament title with victories against Lebanon Valley College and Moravian on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, respectively. He averaged 22.5 points, 8 rebounds and 2.5 steals, and he shot 54.3 percent from the floor during the weekend.

In Saturday's 102-83 win against Lebanon Valley, Gilmour posted his second career double-double with 22 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, and he was credited with three steals. In Sunday's 98-94 victory against the hosts, he poured in 23 points and recorded five boards and two steals. His 3-pointer with 2:05 left gave Hamilton the lead for good at 95-93.

Gilmour is second in the conference in scoring with 18.3 points per game, fourth with 17 steals, 10th with a field goal percentage of 52.9 percent and 11th with 7.2 rebounds per contest. He has scored at least 18 points in each of the last six games.

The Continentals host Wells College in non-conference action on Friday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. before they open NESCAC play at Trinity College on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m.
